Pleasanton, CA – Outreach to the community and to the world is important to the members of Lynnewood United Methodist Church in Pleasanton. As a testament to this commitment, the Church distributed an Alternative Christmas Catalog to its congregation in December, giving congregation members the opportunity to donate to various local and global ministries in honor of others.
One of the organizations which has received a generous donation from the Lynnewood Church members through this program is ValleyCare Charitable Foundation. The gift is earmarked specifically for Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare’s Clothing For Homeless Patients program, which was instituted in May of 2017. “The homeless present to the Emergency Department for a variety of reasons, some of which may be caused by the lack of proper clothing to protect them from the elements. We want to be able to provide them with some basic items to meet those needs when they leave the hospital,” says Donna Koon, Director of Emergency Services at Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare.
“We are honored that the caring congregation members chose to support this important program,” said Shaké Sulikyan, Executive Director of ValleyCare Charitable Foundation. “Lynnewood United Methodist Church’s gift will go far in helping to provide comfort to others in the Tri-Valley community.”
ValleyCare Charitable Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit with the sole purpose of raising funds for Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare.
