ValleyCare Charitable Foundation Elects New Board Members and Incumbents

For Immediate Release August 24, 2016

Livermore, CA – Members of the ValleyCare Charitable Foundation elected two new Board members, Mary Arnerich and Herb Ritter, in July 2016. Incumbents Dr. Todd Auker, Joe Carlucci, and Gina Teeples were re-elected, and Dr. Leena Mehandru also joins the Board as the Ex-Officio Medical Staff Liaison. Each Board member will serve a three-year term.

Mary Arnerich is the Membership and Corporate Wellness Director for ClubSport Pleasanton. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a minor in Hotel Management, from University of California Chico. Mary received special recognition for a nationwide Regional Marketing Campaign from The Veterans of Foreign Affairs and the Macerich Company.

Herb Ritter holds an MBA from St. Mary’s College and has been employed with Square D/Schneider Electric for 29 years. He and his wife Cathy established a residential property management business with an emphasis on philanthropic participation in the community. Herb is on the City of Pleasanton’s Planning Commission, he is an active leader in the Rotary Club of Pleasanton North, and he is currently running for Pleasanton City Council.

Dr. Todd Auker established Auker Eye Associates in Pleasanton in 2001 and is a well-respected physician specializing in multiple aspects of ophthalmology. He has served on various hospital ethics committees, including the Alameda Contra Costa Medical Association, and most recently as the Chairman of the Stanford Medical Center Ethics Committee. Joe Carlucci has held several administrative roles in his employment with Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare over the past 25 years. He is currently the Patient Safety Officer and Director of Rehabilitation Services. Joe has a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, a Master’s of Health Science, and an MBA. He is also a Fellow of the Advisory Board of Washington, D.C.

Gina Teeples is the Chief Nursing Officer at Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare, with a clinical and leadership background in Maternal Child Health. She is an extended faculty member of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, with a focus on team training and patient safety. Gina acts as a liaison between the Charitable Foundation and Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare by presenting emerging and urgent funding needs to the Foundation’s Board.

Dr. Leena Mehandru is the Chief of Medical Staff for Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare. She is also the Medical Director and a practicing nephrologist at Chabot Nephrology Medical Group. She received her medical degree from Christian Medical College Vellore and completed her nephrology fellowship at Stanford University. Leena will be serving as the Ex-Officio Medical Staff Liaison for the ValleyCare Charitable Foundation Board.

The ValleyCare Charitable Foundation Board is co-chaired by Robert and Joyce Shapiro. Other members of the Board include Gary Alt, Lori Arden, Kirsten Barranti, Steve Black, Lisa and Randall Brown, David Clausen, Diane Frazier (Ex-Officio Auxiliary Liaison), David Greiner, Frances Hewitt, Brad Kinney, Megan McManus, Cathy Raty, and Tim Weaver.
